The Conservancy for the Parthenon and Centennial Park, a Nashville based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, preserves, enhances, and shares the Parthenon and Centennial Park so that future generations may benefit from these enriching cultural and educational landmarks. Musicians Corner, a program of The Conservancy, started in 2010 and currently presents 18 free family-friendly music events each year in Centennial Park. Musicians Corner supports artists, enriches the community, and educates youth. Since 2010, Musicians Corner has showcased and supported over 600 emerging artists, and presented music legends like Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, The Blind Boys Of Alabama and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. As part of the Centennial Park Restoration, a permanent home is being built for Musicians Corner, as a cultural meeting place of community engagement that promotes arts education, supports artists, and fosters a love of the arts among adults and children.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Sept. 30, 2014) – The Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation (GBBF) concluded its 10th anniversary state wide bus tour with a celebration on the steps of the Tennessee State Capitol today.
Dolly Parton, former Governor Phil Bredesen, and Governor and First Lady Haslam applauded the efforts of the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for their state wide bus tour which began in late August.
A 45-foot Governor’s Books from Birth branded motor coach stopped at more than 54 counties. The bus tour celebrated the more than 21 million books distributed in the last 10 years. Bus stop activities across the state raised awareness for the program, provided an opportunity for parents to enroll their children, and recognized the work of volunteers and donors in each community. Tennessee is the only state to have the Imagination Library program in every one of its counties.
