DOLLY PARTON, FORMER GOVERNOR BREDESEN, AND GOVERNOR AND FIRST LADY HASLAM CELEBRATE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF GOVERNOR’S BOOKS FROM BIRTH

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Sept. 30, 2014) – The Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation (GBBF) concluded its 10th anniversary state wide bus tour with a celebration on the steps of the Tennessee State Capitol today.

Dolly Parton, former Governor Phil Bredesen, and Governor and First Lady Haslam applauded the efforts of the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for their state wide bus tour which began in late August.

A 45-foot Governor’s Books from Birth branded motor coach stopped at more than 54 counties. The bus tour celebrated the more than 21 million books distributed in the last 10 years. Bus stop activities across the state raised awareness for the program, provided an opportunity for parents to enroll their children, and recognized the work of volunteers and donors in each community. Tennessee is the only state to have the Imagination Library program in every one of its counties.
